KrisJan in herb garden Keisie Cottages comprises of five self-catering mountain cottages which are perfect for people who want a peaceful, quiet few days break close to nature. There are lovely hikes, especially one to a series of rock pools, it is great for mountain biking, horse riding is available nearby and there is a cement dam to swim in. All the cottages are fully equipped for self-catering and all have fireplaces inside and braai facilities outside. "Keisie" means "Pretty Water" in San, and the Keisie Valley is renowned for the flavour and quality of its fruits and wines. On Vredendal Farm we farm gooseberries, peaches, apricots, merlot and hanepoot grapes and quinces. We also have a variety of citrus, almonds and plums andwe use all of the fruit for making our own range of jams, marmalades and preserves which are available for sale on the farm. Guests are welcome to snoop around the farm, enjoy the gardens, sit under the oak trees and pick fruit and gooseberries (on request). We have an acre of roses, which are absolutely glorious when in bloom and have just built a cement dam next to them for guests to take a dip. Views are stunning, we are surrounded by mountains and nature. If you’re lucky you might even see a rheebok or a mountain tortoise. Also if you want fresh herbs for your potjie, you are very welcome to help yourself free of charge from our organic herb garden. What's more you can bring your dog if you want, as long as you bring their bedding as well!
