The Cape Town Pub Crawl was started in December 2006 and is fast becoming one of the most popular nights out for backpackers, travellers and Cape Townians. It runs every Tuesday and Thursday and you meet your crazy funky guides, Chavi and Gal, at Long St. Backpackers between 8:30-9. From there they take you on foot to five of the most popular bars and nightclubs on Long St. The program was specially design by Chavi and Gal, resident party animals, to give you a truly local experience and a genuine feeling of what nightlife on Long St. is really about. All the bars and clubs on the program are different from each other, catering for all tastes and offering you a chance to see all that Long St. has to offer in one night. It’s great if you’ve just arrived, because you can experience all your party options in one night. It’s also a great way to finish off your Cape Town experience if you’re leaving and it offers something new if you’re a local. Pub Crawl is a tour therefore you move around as part of a group. This not only offers security, but it’s also a great way to meet other travellers and locals, don’t be shy to come alone, you’ll have a whole group of friends in no time! And don’t worry, no matter how crazy you get Chavi and Gal will be there to make sure you get home safely. As a group we are a “mobile party”, going together from place to place, so even the short walk to the clubs can be very entertaining. You are also welcome to go back to any of the bar or nightclubs on the program once Pub Crawl is finished if you want to carry on partying.
