For the last 25 years Martin Paetzold has been widely acknowledged within the road racing circuits as one of the top racers of his time and then as an acclaimed suspension tuner, proven both in South Africa and internationally.

Martin started racing in 1984 and quickly progressed to the pinnacle of 400 production and 250cc Grand Prix motorcycles, winning 5 National Championships along the way with the Winston Yamaha Team.

Additionally, Martin was entered as a wildcard rider in the 1992 International Grand Prix at Kyalami, where he was placed 2nd (behind Pier-Francesco Chili) in the 250cc race. He was awarded Springbok Colours for his achievements.

Martin retired as a competitor in 1995 and joined some of the most successful race teams such as Castrol Honda, sharing his experience in setting up race bikes for Greg Dreyer and Lance Isaacs.
